Mr.S a 48 year old man consulted me last week of October 2014 for dry skin, pain heels and cracked heels. He was suffering from dry skin for 2 years. He is an NRI and is on visit to India for a leave up to 10th January. Apart from skin disease he was suffering from headache while coughing and <of all complaints including head ache from mental exertion. There was generalised oedema of body. Swelling on leg increased in the evening. He was also suffering from heart burn for 1 year.
He complained that he was having loss of recent memory and he even forgets what he did just a minute before. It was difficult for him to concentrate on work and made mistakes in preparing letters, mails etc. Every winter the eruptions appeared all over the body. That’s why he took leave from UAE and was staying at India. He went to Amrita Hospital, Cochin and undergone all laboratory investigations. Investigations were within normal limits except LDL 172 and TGL 160. They prescribed some ointments and pain killers for head ache. He was prescribed few vitamin tablets and skin lotions that did not help him much. As head ache was there only while coughing he did not take pain killers. Head ache and cough persisted while he consulted me. There were pain in both heels in the morning and persisted even after walking. He wanted an immediate relief to all his complaints and wanted to go back to UAE soon. I took for 10 – 15 minutes to finish case taking. He showed impatiens while I was asking details. His case was worked out with following rubrics.

Kali Carb was given twice in 200 and 1M, but satisfactory result was not delivered and then I switch over to Sepia and then to Kali sulph and then to Sepia on further consultations. But there were no changes in any of his symptoms either in the form of a relief or as an aggravation. As patient was moving to UAE soon. I tried medicines one after another in all time!
2 weeks back when he reported not relieved on 18th December 2014, I went back to repertory and look in VES. My God it lead me to ask him or better to say repeat him a previous question.

I repeated the question with a modification.
Do you have any medicine including Homoeopathic medicines? This Modification I made because I saw Rauwolfia as the emerged remedy in VES!!
Patient replied, YES!! I have been taking Rauwolfia Q since 2011 not by advice of any doctor but by advice of a Pharmacist. !!
Though my BP was normal I was continuing it as Homoeopathic medicines are harmless medicines. !!!
I advised him to stop taking Rauwolfia and all other medicines and report after 1 week. Last week he reported relief of symptoms. Today (5 – 1 – 2015) he reported absolute relief!!
His skin was normal now and he can concentrate now on mental works, there was no headache at all. No irritability and he was not impatient now. I wished him a bon voyage and didn’t prescribe any medicine. I thankfully went back to VES and refer remedy window. Rauwolfia covered following symptoms .
