Dr Abha (ED): What is unique about your college?
Dr J D Patil (JP): The uniqueness of our college is its favorable environment for studies.
ED: What does a typical day look like for you working as a Principal?
JP: The typical day for me as a Principal would look like a disciplined atmosphere.
ED: How is India’s current homeopathy medical education scenario?
JP: The current homeopathy medical education scenario is improving.
ED: The environment for homeopatbic medical research in India is very conducive. Do you agree?
JP:Yes it is conducive but restricted to some states only.
ED: What are your views on public trust in doctors and other challenges?
JP: Our views on public trust is positive and other challenges are adaptable.
ED: Why research orientation low in homoeopathic colleges of India?
JP: Insufficient allocation of funds for research activities
ED:  What is take of funding scenario for homoeopathic sector?
JP: Insufficient allocation of funds.
ED: Most of the students join B.H.M.S as a secondary option How do you make them aware of the challenges and opportunities.
JP: The students pursuing as well as fresher’s can be made aware by conducting seminars, expert lecture talks by homoeopathic practitioners.
ED: How do you uplift the morale of your students with regards to career?
JD: I uplift the morale of my students by making them aware of the opportunities available in the colleges as lectures, private practitioners in urban and rural arears.
ED: Is pursuing in hospital administration and emergency medical services along with B.H.M.S is a road to employment.
JP: It is not obligatory.
ED: What steps you have taken to ensure decent OPD inflow.
JD: Distribution adverstiment as pamplets door to door in the vicinity of the institution. Created awareness among patients regarding health, hygiene, diet, physical and mental well-being.
ED: Enumerate the infrastructure needed for your college for research activities?
JD:The department of Organon of Medicine should have a well-equipped research lab which includes latest books (Indian and foreign authors) access to Indian and International journals, charts and updates about workshops, ongoing research in and around the country.
ED: In what area your college wants to go forward with regard to your research?
JP:

  • Proving of new remedy
  • Research on machanisum of action of homeopathy remedies
  • Miasms in the light of modern pathology.

ED: What are goals and aspirations towards making your college a better hub of education?
JP: Creating awareness about homeopathic system of medicine among students by developing O.P.D; better classroom teaching and giving hands on experience to students by arranging camps.
ED: What extra efforts you put in to stand out among the list of around 195 homoeopathic colleges in India?
JP: The extra efforts which I put in are creating awareness of the importance of homeopathic medication to society.

About the Principal

Prof. Dr.J.D. Patil is a leading academician, author and research scholar of our Homoeopathic community. He has an ample experience of about 16 years in administration, 17 yrs experience as a P.G. Guide & PG Teacher to MD (Hom) & PhD (Hom), 36 years total teaching experience in UG. He was born on 1st June 1953. At present he serves as Principal in Foster Development Homoeopathic Medical College and Hospital, Aurangabad.

     He has served in various positions like Former-Principal Homoeopathic Medical College, Jalna; Medical Officer; Director for Students’ Welfare, MUHS, and examiner for many universities. Appointed as an Inspector by CCH; Vigilance Squad for Examination’s by Dr. B.A.Marathawada University; Cap Director For MUHS Examinations, Chairman of LIC Committee For MUHS Inspections, etc. He has presented papers in many National and International Conferences 
He has authored many books includes Gems of Homoeopathic Materia Medica, Gems of Bio- Chemic Materia Medica, Gems of Obgy with Homoeo Therapeutics, Gems of M.C.Q.’s in Organon & HMM, Gems of M.C.Q.’s in Pharmacy, Gems of M.C.Q.’s in for I – BHMS, Gems of M.C.Q.’s in for II – BHMS, Gems of Indian Homoeopathy, Gems of Case taking in Homoeopathy, Gems of M.C.Q.’s in Homoeopathy, Gems of Pioneers of Homoeopath, Gems of 1000 Green Lines Symptoms, Gems of Modern Homoeopathy, Text Book of Applied Materia Medica, Group Study in Homoeopathic Materia Medica, P.      His research activities are Proving of Belladonna on Fishes and Proving & Reproving of many Homoeopathic medicines; serves as Co -Ordinator for research & proving Unit. His new research project on Obesity is in Progress
