A Case of Chenopodium

Today we will discuss an acute case of fever cured by a very small remedy.

On 14 January 2018, a six year old, male child came to us in night, with very high fever. It was about 105 F. The parents were very tensed. They came to me from 30 km away from a nearby district (Chomu). Since I had cured child’s asthma 4 years ago, I asked what happened?

P -The mother of the patient said doctor my child is having a very high fever since last night, he was restless all night tossing all over bed here and there.

D- Can you explain me in words the whole scenario like a story from the beginning?

P – He was sleeping well but in the middle of night he suddenly woke up in night and started crying and said mom, there’s a black circle in front, please remove it, please remove it.

I thought he had a bad dream, and I told him not to worry and sleep again. But since then he said please remove this black circle……repeatedly. We asked him what did he saw in dream but he said nothing…. Just black circles.

D – Does he regularly sees horrible dreams?

P – No doctor, it is first time.

D- Can you tell me what happened that whole day when he had this dream?

P – Actually doctor, yesterday when he was playing outside house, he saw a funeral (shav yatra) passing by. He may have got frightened with that.
I examined the throat of child, his both tonsils were swollen up. So much that they were about to touch the uvula from both side. The child was very weak, anaemic and pale. His appetite was lost since many months. He rarely ate willingly.

This was the confirmation and medicine was confirmed in my mind. Now I know that all homoeopaths in this case will go for Acon, Bell and other medicines they are not wrong the symptoms are going towards it. But I want to tell every homoeopaths here always try to go with individual peculiar symptoms. As Dr Hahnemann stated there are only two types of symptoms common and uncommon. And the uncommon cures. And the rubrics that has least of one or two medicines are uncommon. Why because only that medicines covers that rubric, and that is the individuality. i want to quote a guidance of my Guru Dr. L. C. Sharma sir  “A rubric covering 200 medicines is important but a rubric covering only one medicine is more important, and a rubric covering only one medicine with a rare remedy is the most important.”

So rubrics used were:

1 Restless tossing in bed
2 Swelling of tonsils in children
3 Swelling of tonsils in pale scrofulous children

And the most important,
4 FEVER AFTER FRIGHT.

THIS SYMPTOM IS THE MAIN THEME OF THE CASE. AND IT IS COVERED BY ONLY ONE MEDICINE [CHENOPODIUM ANTHELMENTICUM].

THIS SYMPTOMS IS VERIFIED IN PHATAK, KNERR AND SYNTHESIS REPERTORY, AND MENTIONED IN CLARKES DICTIONARY, HERING GUIDING SYMPTOMS, AND ROBIN MURPHY HOMOEOPATHIC REMEDY GUIDE.

THE REMEDY WAS RARE AND WAS GIVEN IN THIRTY POTENCY EVERY 2 HRLY. AND I GUIDED THE PATIENT THAT IF FEVER GOES DOWN INCREASE THE GAP OF THE REMEDY 1 HR AFTER EVERY DECREASE IN ONE DEGREE TEMPERATURE AND STOP THE MEDICINE WHEN TEMPERATURE COMES TO HUNDRED.

Next morning call came from the patient’s mother and she was delighted that only 8 doses were given as I had instructed and the child woke up fine and having a charm on his face like nothing happened.

SO DON’T THINK RARE MEDICINES ARE NOT WORTH USE AND STUDY. STUDY EACH AND EVERY REMEDY YOU CAN, FROM EACH AND EVERY BOOK.
