Dr. Peter Fisher is the Faculty of Homeopathy’s new president. He takes over from Dr Helen Beaumont who has

stood down after four years in office.

Founded in 1844, the Faculty is the world-leading organisation for teaching medical professionals the theory and practice

of homeopathy and has academic centres in a number of countries. It also promotes quality research in its quarterly journal Homeopathy.

As well as being the director of research and consultant physician at the NHS Royal London Hospital for Integrated Medicine, Dr. Fisher is a Physician to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and has been editor-in-chief of Homeopathy since 1986.

Accepting the presidency Dr. Fisher said he was honoured to become president and remains optimistic for the future of the organisation he now leads and the medicine he practices.

“Homeopathy has survived many challenging periods in its 220-year history,” he said. “The therapy is growing in popularity in large regions of the world including Western Europe, North and Latin America, and in India. Homeopathy is also seeing growth in regions where it does not even have historical roots, such as East and South-east Asia and South Africa.”

Addressing t

he research in homeopathy he said the evidence has never been stronger. “We are close to the tipping-point where the weight of scientific evidence becomes impossible to deny. If we are resolute and focussed, the future is bright.”

Greg White, Faculty chief executive, said: “Dr. Fisher has a global reputation in homeopathic medicine and we are delighted he is our new president. These are exciting times for the Faculty as it is expanding its influence and membership to medical homeopath colleagues around the world through its gold-standard education programmes. I look forwa

rd to working with Dr. Fisher in bringing the wonderful benefits of homeopathy to more healthcare professionals and through them to their patients.”
