A call for Delay in Homeopathic Council Polls

Islamabad: The Pakistan Homeopathic Medical Association has insisted the health services and coordination ministry to put off the August 8 elections in National Council for Homeopathy, until the complete verification of the educational certificates of voters.
This demand has come over the complaints about many homeopaths possessing fake matriculation and diploma certificates.
There are 21 members in the NCH, including 13 elected by registered homoeopaths across the country by vote for five years and seven nominated by the health ministry.
According to PHMA, the voter list for NCH has been declared faulty by the Senate subcommittee on health services. The Senate has ordered verification of the voters and their academic credentials before the elections. This will ensure a clean and transparent electoral process.
The addresses of many voters were found incorrect, while various homeopathic colleges have fake addresses.
The PHMA demanded ministry order delaying of the NCH elections, until the verification process is complete.
