Union Minister of State for Ayush (Independent Charge) Shripad Yesso Naik,attended the inaugural function of Arogya Fair, 2018 in Imphaland informed that the ministry of AYUSH had approved setting up of a new Homoeopathic College having a Homoeopathy Pharmacy and a Drug Testing Laboratory at Keirao in Manipur’s Imphal East District. He also informed that the Central Government had approved providing support in setting up of four 50-bed hospitals in Manipur.
The visiting minister also urged the people of the State to plant medicinal plants instead of poppy and cannabis. Stating that Manipur has rich resources of medicinal plants, he said his Ministry is ready to extend all possible support regarding large scale plantation of medicinal plants.
The Union Ministry of Ayush has been promoting Ayush system of health care in the country as well in the State, minister Naik said that Ayush doctors and facilities are being provided in Public Health Centres and Community Health Centres and District Hospitals of all the States under the National Ayush Mission.
