NEET 2019 is scheduled to be held on May 5 and the result will be declared on June 5.
VIJAYAWADA: The administration of Dr NTR University of Health Sciences (NTRUHS) has finalized the list of schools of Ayurveda, Yoga and Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha and Homeopathy (AYUSH) of the state for the admission of national quota.
Starting this year, candidates applying for UG courses at AYUSH must apply for the National Eligibility Entry Exam (NEET). Unlike the MBBS and BDS courses for which only state government universities are included in the national quota, private universities have also been considered for this year’s national quota seats.
According to the NTRUHS list, there are five homoeopathy colleges in the state with a total admission of 270 seats, of which 120 are in three government universities and 150 in two private universities. Throughout the state, there are a total of 720 seats for UG courses at AYUSH universities and 15 per cent of these seats will be filled in the national fee through NEET. Speaking to TNIE, Dr S Appala Naidu, Registrar of NTRUHS, said: “The AYUSH ministry had declared filling seats through NEET in 2018. However, it was not made mandatory. But as of this year, NEET is mandatory and quotas in private universities will also be included in the national quota.”
NEET 2019 is scheduled to be held on May 5 and the result will be declared on June 5.
