NEW DELHI: A bill aiming to increase the period of reorganization of the Homeopathy Central Council from one year to two years has been introduced in the Lok Sabha on 21st June 2019.

The Homeopathy Central Council (Amendment) Bill, 2019, wants to extend the period of restructuring of the Central Council so that the term of the governor’s board can be extended for one year from 17 to 1 year, 2019.

The bill was introduced by Health Minister Harsh Vardhan on behalf of Ayush Minister Shripad Naik. The Bill attempts to replace the Ordinance issued by this previous government in this regard. The bill will help the Central Council of Homeopathy practice the powers and performance of the Council.

The affairs of the Union Homeopathy Council have been entrusted to a Board of Governors, which includes reputed and qualified Homeopathy doctors and eminent administrators until the Council is reorganized.

As the state registers of homoeopathy and general elections were not updated, the council could not be reconstituted within one year, because the term has been extended.
