ABSTRACT:
Angioedema is the acute condition of edema or swelling of the area under skin or mucosa. It commonly affects the face, lips, eyelids, limbs, genitals etc. This is a case study of angioedema of lips, which after proper case taking and repertorisation cured by Arsenic album 30.
This case study emphasizes the value of homoeopathic medicines in curing the acute cases and breaking the biggest myth that homoeopathy takes time to heal.

INTRODUCTION:
Angioedema is a reaction which causes swelling in the tissues under the skin or mucosa. This pathology develops when the liquid escapes from small blood vessels and fills up the tissues, causing swelling.
Angioedema oftenly gets confused with urticaria (hives). Angioedema are of many types:
- Acute allergic angioedema,
- Non allergic angioedema
- Drug induced angioedema
- Idiopathic angioedema.
- Hereditary angioedema
CASE SUMMARY:
A girl 15 years old came to OPD presenting the complaint of swelling with severe pain of both lips.
After complete case taking, the case is summarised by following totality of symptoms-
- Swelling of both lips since two days
- Burning pain of lips
- Heat of the lips
- Pain ameliorated by warm application
- Fever since 3 days with no perspiration
- Patient is thirsty
- Thermal reaction- chilly
- Appetite decreased.
- Difficulty in eating due to swelling
BASIS OF PRESCRIPTION:
On the basis of totality of symptoms and repertorisation given below, Arsenic album is the selected remedy for the case, as it covers maximum number of rubrics and found to be the most simillimum for the case.
Rubrics taken-
- FACE – HEAT – lips
- FACE – PAIN – LIPS – burning
- FACE – SWELLING – Lips
- FACE – SWELLING – lips- fever, during
Result- Arsenic album 8/4.

DISCUSSION :
The most important indication in the case is the burning pain ameliorated by warm application. The great anxiety over the face of the patient confirms the medicine. Arsenic album 30 is given, 4 pills three times in a day for two days. On the third day, 60% of swelling and pain was reduced. Arsenic album 30 is repeated again for two days and on the fifth day there is complete relief of all the complaints, as well as the appetite is improved.
CONCLUSION:
Angioedema can be a challenging condition to manage, and conventional medical approaches are often necessary, especially in severe cases.while homoeopathy may offer a complementary option for some individuals, it’s crucial to approach it with an understanding of its principles and limitations
Homoeopathy acts faster if the similimum is chosen wisely and correctly. It shows miraculous effects in acute cases. The above case of acute angioedema is cured completely by repeated doses of single similimum medicine that is Arsenic album 30.
