What is cancer?
Did you know Cancer is the most feared disease in the world today? Well, the reason is simple! All cancers occur when normal cells begin proliferating unbounded. But despite being the deadliest of all, it is not always fatal. Yes! With sophisticated techniques of early detection and innovative treatment modalities, we have been able to conquer the most feared consequence of this disease. At the same time, researchers around the world, are continuously trying to develop or discover effective treatment options for cancer.
How does cancer start in your body?
Cancer is triggered by genetic mutation which stimulates healthy cells to multiply, form clusters called tumors or break away and spread via the lymph, blood or direct contact with other parts of the body- a process medically termed as Metastasis. In this way, the cancer cells continue to increase and outnumber the normal cells in a certain part of the body hampering its normal functioning. For example, oesophageal carcinoma manifests as difficulty in swallowing, called dysphagia while lung cancers often present as dyspnea or difficulty in breathing.
What are cancer symptoms?
Cancer may or may not present with symptoms. There have been cases where the patient lived with cancer developing within the body but there were no manifesting symptoms. In other cases, there may be obvious symptoms pertaining to the part affected while in yet another scenario, symptoms may be so vague that the diagnosis of cancer is missed by even the most experienced physician.

The literature of the past workers on the subject of Cancer was scattered all over which has been compiled to preserve the original work with all authenticity. To know the history Therapeutics of Cancer by J. H. Clarke was the only easily available work on the subject, but the biggest irony was that though it was printed in the name of Clarke, it hardly contained any information or paper from him. Similarly, there was another work named as Homoeopathic Treatment of Cancer by Fortier-Bernoville and A.H. Grimmer. It had valuable indications penned by Grimmer with a compilation of all possible avenues of prescribing in cases of cancer by Bernoville. Another work by R.T. Cooper’s Cancer and Cancer Symptoms deserves a mention here which includes the cases of one of the most zealous homoeopathic workers on the treatment of cancer, yet it is hardly read today along with description of many new drugs that had been found to be successful in the treatment of various conditions. So these scattered works on the subject of Cancer have been compiled to preserve the original work with all authenticity and to make them available to readers at one go.
· The books included in the compilation are:
-Therapeutics of Cancer by J. H. Clarke
– Homoeopathic Treatment of Cancer by Fortier-Bernoville
– Cancer articles by A.H. Grimmer
