Calcarea Picrata: I had occasion to prescribe Picric Acid in the case of a young lady who had suffered from a series of furuncles in the meatus. Picric Acid relieved the symptoms, but Hepar Sulph Calcarea was necessary to complete the cure. A relapse and the necessity for a repetition of the Picric Acid suggested to me a combination of these two drugs. I therefore obtained the compound salt, Calcarea Picrata, and it has been used in a number of cases in the hospital during this session. It bids fair to warrant the late Dr. Hering’s statement, that the combination of two remedies in a compound gives the curative action of each in a greater degree.
