He had worked as a Professor and Head of Department of Organon and History of Medicine at The Calcutta Homoeopathic Medical College and Hospital.

"The book 'Pioneers of Homoeopathy' by Dr. Mahendra Singh is an excellent example of amalgamation of short biographies of our pioneers along with the timeline of various milestones attained in the developmental history of Homoeopathic Medicine. The book combines the biographies of renowned stalwarts like Dr. J.T Kent, Dr. Constantine Hering, Dr. Hahnemann - the father of homoeopathy and many others. My favourite part was reading the biography of Dr. B.K. Bose in which his interview with the dean of New York Homeopathic College was an interesting one where he clearly predicted the bright future of homoeopathy in India and also claimed that India would one day be a world leader in the field of homoeopathic education - a past prediction which is a reality of present.
Overall, I would recommend this book for all homoeopathic students and practitioners as it will help in rejuvenating the spirit of being a good physician in them by getting inspired by the struggles of our pioneers."
