He was one of the students of Richard Hughes. He was the member of the most famous club ” The Cooper Club” along with Thomas Skinner, James Compton Burnett. Clarke was a prolific writer. He used to visit his patients in a horse-drawn carriage which was like an office inside, complete with a writing desk as Clarke was found of writing he never lost an opportunity to work on his books. He has authored more than 20 books in his lifetime. He was a brilliant writer who wielded a very caustic pen.
